Our Charter

Dogs are sentient beings, with the capacity to feel love, affection and happiness, as well as pain, fear and sadness. Domesticated dogs are entirely dependent upon their human carers for everything, from their food and bedding to their mental stimulation. We have a responsibility to treat dogs humanely and with respect and dignity. We have a responsibility to ensure they have a life worth living.

Dogs are rational, intelligent and affectionate beings capable of responding to human care. The care must demonstrate empathy, consideration and compassion for both the animal’s physical and mental health.

As a no-kill shelter, we value the life of every dog in our care.

We encourage the sterilisation of all dogs and hope that one day we will not need to be here.
